What types of commissions are supported
At the moment, we support:
Monthly/annual recurring commissions
Usage-based commissions
One-time commissions
Free apps - in this case, your publisher won't get any commission, but you can still track the installation and potential future revenue from (yet) free merchants.
The percentage you set on the edit app page is calculated from the gross subscription, in other words, from your subscription list price visible on your Shopify app detail page. Therefore, you need to set the commission rate accordingly.
The same logic applies to usage-based charges. For example, if the app subscription is $50 and the merchant also pays $100 via usage-based charges, the commission is calculated from $150.
Potential refunds issued to the merchant are automatically reflected in the commissions within 1 hour after the refund is issued. You don't have to do anything.
In the near future, we plan to add more features like cost per installation (CPI), allowing you to pay extra commission to your partner for every successful install that meets certain qualitative criteria. You can also limit the commission for a certain period of time, such as only for the first 12 months.
If you're missing any features, submit a new feature or vote for an existing one!
